Testimonial nr 116 : Nelson & Isabelle
First of all, let me thank you for all the hard work to try and let the lovers of the world get back together.
I am a belgian resident (permanent visa, canadian passeport) and my partner, Nelson Barrigon, is Argentinan. We met as I got stuck in Argentina during quarantine. Our relationship is recent, dating back to the 14th of march but it is serious, confinement helping making things a bit intense. Unfortunately, I had to come back to Belgium, urged by the authorities. I came back on the 1st of July. We had planned to visit and eventually for Nelson to come live in Belgium on a cohabitation visa (that we cannot get before I get my citizenship).
Today, we can't see each other because we do not meet the requirements of the belgian government. Although we spent more than 3 months physically together, the relationship is considered too recent.
What is difficult on us and frankly on our relationship today, is not knowing. Not knowing when or if we will be able to see each other again, not knowing if the other partner will be able to tough it through, or even I. We really want to build a life together, we have long term projects, but all ofour dreams and hopes are put aside with this travel ban.
So here is us.
Thank you again for the help !
