Katie LaZelle and her mother

Testimonial nr 312 : Katie La Zelle & her mother in USA

Katie LaZelle and her mother

While I was born in the US, I have called Belgium home now for nearly 15 years and in 2017 I became a Belgian citizen.
In April of this year, in the middle of covid-19 confinement, I gave birth to my first child: a little girl.
My mother, who is also my best friend, had planned to be here for the birth but due to the covid travel ban had to cancel her flight.
She was not there to help with recovery following my unplanned c-section.
She was not there for emotional support when the baby was refusing to sleep.
With no change in the travel ban situation she has still not been able to get here.
In two weeks I will have to go back to work and due to the fact that we have not been able to find a place in a creche, my mother is needed to care for our child.
We have sent countless emails and made phone calls to the authorities, but to no avail. We are suffering the same as many in this group. -- Katie LaZelle
